Some marketing companies and ad agencies believe you've got to step outside the box and be over-the-top creative to attract the attention of the buyer. Here's a fact: You are not going to convince someone to buy your product or service if they are not in the market for what you are selling. People don't buy because an advertisement, direct mail piece, web site or brochure is ultra-creative. They buy because they have a need and are looking for someone to fill that need.
